Bridgewater Country Club is one of the finest and most challenging golf courses in the Niagara Region and Western New York. Designed and built by renowned Golf Course Architect Stanley Thompson in 1923, it was originally called the Erie Downs Golf and Country Club.
It was in the late 1970s when the name changed to Bridgewater Country Club. Erie Downs was home to the 1933 Ontario Open, which was won by Sam Snead and hosted the Ontario Open again in 1993
Our course layout is a true gem, offering players of every age and skill 18 unique challenges. Play weaves through natural terrain, meandering streams and stately trees. This is not a cookie cutter, flat, front-to-black sloped green, same old track. At Bridgewater players find four beautiful par 3s and a delicate mix of doglegs left and right.
Dining Room and Grill Room to the public year-round. Enjoy a picturesque view of the finishing holes from both rooms or during the summer months enjoy the view from our fully covered patio.
Bridgewater Country Club is known for more than just golf. It is also the premiere Fort Erie venue for important events. Our private Dining Room overlooks the 9th and 18th holes and offers an intimate setting for the reception and dinner portion of your wedding.
Please feel free to set up an appointment, at no charge, so that we may show you around and answer any questions you may have. Sincerely, Rocco A. D’Amelio, General Manager
